Devin Bush made his official debut in Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon at Steelers headquarters in the South Side about 15 hours after Pittsburgh chose in with the tenth pick in this year’s NFL draft. Team owner Art Rooney III introduced him to the throng of media that gathered for the introduction.

“I came through the tunnels and rode around the city,” Bush said. “Being able to represent my family at this level is an honor.”

The Steelers entered the 2019 NFL draft with the twentieth pick and some glaring needs on both sides of the ball. They hoped to start addressing those needs on Thursday night’s first round by making a splash and traded up with Denver to the tenth pick to get one of their top choices, 5-11, 234 lb. linebacker Devin Bush from Michigan.

Cody Bellinger helps the Los Angeles Dodgers with power and a refined plate approach, too. Bellinger hit his 14th home run of the season in the fourth inning, then rolled an RBI single through the defensive shift in the seventh inning as the Dodgers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-6 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep.

Howie Kendrick quickly is making up for lost time. Limited to only five games last season because of a torn Achilles and slowed this spring by a hamstring injury, the 35-year-old Kendrick is off to a fast start for the Washington Nationals. He is 6 for 10, including a home run Saturday that sent the Nationals over the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-2.

Colin Moran has less than a full season’s worth of at-bats in the majors, and just maybe the 26-year-old is becoming one of the game’s better pinch hitters. Moran came off the bench in the 10th inning Friday night and hit a three-run homer, part of five runs Pittsburgh scored off Washington’s struggling bullpen, in a 6-3 victory over the Nationals.
