The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms with forward Conor Sheary on a three-year contract, it was announced Sunday by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

The deal begins with the 2017-18 season and runs through the 2019-20 campaign, and it has an average annual value of $3 million.

The Penguins lost assistant Rick Tocchet to the Arizona Coyotes, but added two long-time NHL stars and team standouts when they hired Mark Recchi and Sergei Gonchar.

The Penguins have named Mark Recchi an assistant coach, replacing Rick Tocchet, who was named the head coach of the Arizona Coyotes.

Pittsburgh acquired forward Ryan Reaves from the St. Louis Blues during Day 1 of the NHL Draft at Chicago's United Center on Friday night.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Reaves is signed through the 2017-18 season, and he carries a salary of $1.125 million.

The Pens and their postseason success have been nothing short of the routine for the best team still alive. Even on their worst night, it is hard for me to find much wrong with the Penguins and its second straight push for glory.
